Hey there, I think, Michael battling the devil, is a parallel account of him battling the governments. The devil gave it's power to the last government to rule. And Michael takes on the governments at Armaggedon. I also think the Armaggedon is the BEGINNING of the great Tribulation not the end. And I think the 'short period of time' is the great tribulation. I believe that the battle against the devil and throwing him from heaven, is Michael defaming him and conquering evil bringing him down in glory. I don't think that Satan is thrown out of the place where God lives and is on the vicinity of the earth.

When is Satan thrown out of heaven?
by M.J. in.
the jws, of course, claim this occurred in 1914, thus making the way for the new heavenly order with christ (michael) having won the battle and taking his place on the throne.. but what does revelation itself suggest as the timeframe for this battle?.
doesn't the society's version suggest that heaven was out of control until then--kind of like another earth?

IF Jehovah's Witnesses are right...
by AuldSoul in...then jesus lied about how to identify the false prophets.. ...then jesus lied about the sign of his presence and of the conclusion of the system of things.. ...then the watchtower bible and tract society disassociated itself from true christianity through a repeated lack of neutrality.. ...then i will happily die at armageddon knowing i stood up against a god who supported a deceitful earthly corporation as his own.. but, i am not afraid they are right.
respectfully,.

Auld Soul:
You know, my opinion might be different than some..as I really do think Russell had God's spirit as well as Raymond Franz....and probably his buddies who got disfellowshipped.. I think the shake up when Rutherford came in, was God getting the good out of the org..and again, the shakeup in '78, '79..was God again removing the good...(Opposite of what JW's think>LOL)
So, to me, I think, the Wt is the 'antitype' of the peg of Shebna, the stewart of God... In Is. 22:15 -25, God, completely destroys the peg, because it became arrogant and he gives the stewardship to Eliakim, who I think, antitypically is Jesus.
I left in Sept...never to return, because I think that God's spirit has completely left the WT and has now completely, become the 'evil slave' in Math. 24.
And to me, if any ONE individual is the 'faithful and discreet' slave it would be Raymond Franz.. But it may be one of many...

1 John 2:27
by TheListener inthe wt society states that this refers to christ's brothers, the 144,000 and that it refers to apostate teachers and not truthful teachers.
(sorry, i don't have my references handy - i can post later or tomorrow).. i know some use this scripture as one to show how the governing body shouldn't be teaching the fds.
here are the verses preceding 27: .

YOU do not need anyone to be teaching YOU ; but, as the anointing from him is teaching YOU about all things, and is true and is no lie, and just as it has taught YOU , remain in union with him."
How excellent! Thanks..for the scripture...!!!

The Trinity... is it a false teaching as the WTBTS claims?
by Honesty inin the old testament god revealed himself to his chosen people, the israelites as i am:.
ex 3:14-15 - god replied to moses, i am who i am.
this is what you are to say to the israelites: i am .
-
Star Moore
I say to all Trinitarians if you can believe that any part of the God Head or God the Son or whatever, leaned against the tree and relieved himself, or took a nice big smelly dump beside the road, during his many travels, etc. than you have a much less elegant view of God than I do.
LOL ......YOU are so funny: but ACCURATE. Oroborus21.
a point: I was on another site and this girl was saying this:
Only begotten son, could be interpreted as : Uniquely begotton son..
Makes more sense, as the angels as well as humans are anointed as 'sons'..

whether there is knowledge, it will be done away with.

I think Paul was saying, in the end...the knowledge we have, isn't going to get us a ticket to heaven (so to speak).. Not that knowledge was worthless but that it was not going to be what Jesus and God would be looking for when (that which is perfect arrives).
In I Cor. 1:10...He says that God chose the ones who are not wise in a fleshly sense..to put the wise men to shame....
JW are sooooooo proud of themselves because of their 'accurate' knowledge.
In John 17:3 They have actually manipulated scripture to say ..'Everlasting life, means their taking in knowledge...........When all the other bibles say ..'Everlasting life, means knowing God and Jesus.
JW..think they have to have 1 to 10 years of bible study before they qualify for baptism. Not so with the early christians....if they liked something Paul spoke or Philip...they saw a body of water and got baptized.
In I Cor. 13:1....It says, that we can have all the knowledge and prophesy in the world and if we don't' have LOVE, we have nothing...

I Cor. 13:8 Jeru Version "Love does not come to an end. But if there are gifts of prophesy, the time will come when they must fail: or the gift of Languages, it will not continue forever; and knowledge, for this too, the time will come when it must fail."
vs. 9 "For our knowledge is imperfect and our prophesying is imperfect; but once perfection comes, all imperfect things will disappear."
vs. 13 " In short, there are three things that last: faith, hope and love; and the greatest of these is love."
As a witness, I never could understand how KNOWLEDGE could end. JW's are all about taking in 'accurate knowledge' as it supposedly leads to everlasting life. JW'S base everything on knowledge. But now I understand that it is:
FAITH, HOPE AND LOVE lead to everlasting life and knowledge won't mean diddely squat when Jesus comes.....as it says in verse 8
KNOWLEDGE.......THE TIME WILL COME WHEN IT MUST FAIL.

If the World were a village of 1,000 people...????
by Star Moore inif the world were a village of 1,000 people, it would include:.
584 asians.
124 africans.

If the world were a village of 1,000 people, it would include:
· 584 Asians
· 124 Africans
· 95 East and West Europeans
· 84 Latin Americans
· 55 Soviets (including for the moment Lithuanians, Latvians,
Estonians and other national groups)
· 52 North Americans
· 6 Australians and New Zealanders
The people of the village have considerable difficulty in communicating:
· 165 people speak Mandarin
· 86 English
· 83 Hindi/Urdu
· 64 Spanish
· 58 Russian
· 37 Arabic
That list accounts for the mother tongues of only half the villagers.
The other half speak (in descending order of frequency) Bengali,
Portuguese, Indonesian, Japanese, German, French and 200 other
languages.
In this village of 1,000 there are:
· 329 Christians (among them 187 Catholics, 84 Protestants, 31
Orthodox)
· 178 Moslems
· 167 "non-religious"
· l32 Hindus
· 60 Buddhists
· 45 atheists
· 3 Jews
· 86 all other religions
One-third (330) of the 1,000 people in the world village are children
and only 60 are over the age of 65. Half the children are immunized
against preventable infectious diseases such as measles and polio.
Just under half of the married women in the village have access to and
use modern contraceptives.
This year 28 babies will be born. Ten people will die, 3 of them for
lack of food, 1 from cancer, 2 of the deaths are of babies born within
the year. One person of the 1,000 is infected with the HIV virus;
that person most likely has not yet developed a full-blown case of AIDS.
With the 28 births and 10 deaths, the population of the village next
year will be 1,018.
In this 1,000-person community, 200 people receive 75 percent of the
income; another 200 receive only 2 percent of the income.
Only 70 people of the 1,000 own an automobile (although some of the 70
own more than one automobile).
About one-third have access to clean, safe drinking water.
Of the 670 adults in the village, half are illiterate.
The village has six acres of land per person, 6,000 acres in all, of
which
· 700 acres are cropland
· 1,400 acres pasture
· 1,900 acres woodland
· 2,000 acres desert, tundra, pavement and other wasteland
· The woodland is declining rapidly; the wasteland is increasing.
The other land categories are roughly stable.
The village allocates 83 percent of its fertilizer to 40 percent of its
cropland - that owned by the richest and best-fed 270 people. Excess
fertilizer running off this land causes pollution in lakes and wells.
The remaining 60 percent of the land, with its 17 percent of the
fertilizer, produces 28 percent of the food grains and feeds 73 percent
of the people. The average grain yield on that land is one-third the
harvest achieved by the richer villagers.
In the village of 1,000 people, there are:
· 5 soldiers
· 7 teachers
· 1 doctor
· 3 refugees driven from home by war or drought
The village has a total budget each year, public and private, of over $3
million - $3,000 per person if it is distributed evenly (which, we have
already seen, it isn't).
Of the total $3 million:
·
· $181,000 goes to weapons and warfare
· $159,000 for education
· $l32,000 for health care
The village has buried beneath it enough explosive power in nuclear
weapons to blow itself to smithereens many times over. These weapons are
under the control of just 100 of the people. The other 900 people are
watching them with deep anxiety, wondering whether they can learn to get
along together; and if they do, whether they might set off the weapons
anyway through inattention or technical bungling; and, if they ever
decide to dismantle the weapons, where in the world village they would
dispose of the radioactive materials of which the weapons are made. -

God shunned all, but Jews and christians with the correct understanding?
by Star Moore inthe bible says that the jews were god's chosen people.
yes, but does that mean that all other people were nothing to him, unless they were associated with the nation of isreal?
a thought: what if god just chose the nation of isreal for the purpose of bringing the messiah to earth and was still with the good people in all the other religions?

Thanks for responding.. JWFacts... I don't see why God would have helped all the good people in the world..or now for that matter..
But Job was alive before Moses.. But the Muslims for sure were blessed...It says so .
